Ezra Miller, star of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, was arrested in Hawaii on suspicion of assault.

After being asked to leave a private property, the singer reportedly became enraged and flung a chair, which injured a woman.

Ezra Miller, star of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, has been detained in Hawaii on charges of assault, just weeks after being jailed for disorderly conduct and assault on the Big Island.

According to a statement from the Hawaii police department, the celebrity, 29, who is also known for playing the Flash in the Justice League movie, “got enraged” after being asked to leave a private property and reportedly flung a chair, which struck a woman in the forehead.

During a traffic stop about 1.30 a.m., police apprehended and released Miller. The woman, 26, was treated for a half-inch cut on her forehead, according to authorities.

Miller is being held on accusations of harassment and disorderly behaviour following an incident in a karaoke club in March in which police say he seized a microphone from a woman and lunged at a man playing darts.

The karaoke bar arrest and a related traffic charge were both slated for arraignment on Tuesday. According to Kenneth Quiocho, the Hawaii police assistant chief, Miller was involved in a confrontation in downtown Hilo last month in which police were called when the actor refused to leave the area and impeded a sidewalk.

Miller’s lawyer, Francis Alcain, had asked for the court hearing on Tuesday to be moved up from next week, claiming that the actor “had different time-sensitive work responsibilities in California and/or New York” and needed an earlier hearing to resolve the matter. The Associated Press reached out to Alcain for comment, but he did not immediately answer.

The star’s legal issues put their career in jeopardy. According to Rolling Stone, after Miller’s first arrest, Warner Bros. and DC officials had an emergency meeting and decided to put any future projects with the actor on hold.

Miller’s arrest comes only days after the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in the United States, in which the actor plays Credence Barebone for the second time. Miller, who has also been in We Need to Talk About Kevin and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, is set to act in a standalone Flash film in 2023.
